Groundwork to Grow is a series of 4-week courses on various agriculture topics, offering exposure to community resources, local experts, and experienced farmers. Each course runs through Tuesday Zoom sessions and Saturday in-person field days.

November 2026: Agribusiness Development
Learn from local farmers and businesses what it takes to start and scale an agriculture or food business in Hawaiʻi.
Our 4-week course consists of four Saturday field days at different East Hawaiʻi Island locations and four Tuesday virtual classes. Whatever your agribusiness, from farmstands and homemade food producers, to value-added products, to restaurants and food trucks, learn from other business owners how they successfully started and scaled, including regulations and permits, sales and marketing, financing, and more.
Dates: November 3-28
Format: Tuesday Zoom sessions + Saturday field days
Location: East Side of Hawai’i Island (various locations)
Cost: $99
Scholarships: Available for veterans
Cohort size: 10–12 participants (space is limited)
Please only register if you can commit to attending. Submitting the form lets us know you’re interested, it doesn’t guarantee a spot yet. We’ll follow up to confirm your enrollment. Priority goes to those who have attended an Intro to Grow workshop.
