Victory Gardens for Veterans

Our Victory Garden volunteer program encourages Veterans and their families to engage with gardening and agricultural activities at home.

🌱 About this Program

Are you a Veteran or Caregiver who lives on Hawaiʻi Island? We bring the Victory Garden to you!

Our Victory Garden for Veterans program encourages Veterans and their families to engage with gardening and agricultural activities at home. This approach supports Veterans in the process of growing their own food and providing for their family, while also providing an opportunity for them to gain agricultural experiences

Victory Gardens include:

  • Raised garden bed
  • Soil
  • Amendments
  • Food plant starts
  • One-page description of the plant basics with care instructions
  • Gratitude rock to remind them of our gratitude for their service and the sacrifices

How it works:

  • If you are a Veteran or Caregiver on Hawaiʻi Island please fill out the interest form below
  • Once we receive your form we will reach out to confirm your military service and delivery location
  • Victory Gardens for Veterans are distributed on an ongoing basis based on availability and need. They may take up 1-2 months for delivery.
  • On delivery day two Ho`ōla team members deliver and set up the garden bed, taking the time to walk through some tips to keep the garden growing!
